Voice, chat and presence client

Cisco Jabber is installed on all Curtin staff computers and links with their desk phone, mobile, tablet and personal computers. Jabber enables access to the following features:

  • Instant Messaging (IM)
  • One-on-one or group chat
  • File transfer
  • Customised ‘presence’ (presence is the indicator of whether a person is at their desk, in a meeting, working from home, etc)
  • Voice calls using desk phone, computer, mobile device or tablet
  • Video calls (only with compatible desk phones)
  • Desktop sharing
  • Web conferencing using WebEx
  • Integration with Microsoft Office
